Summary:

Since September 2003, I have been living and working in Asheville, North Carolina. Along with some visionary community leaders I helped foster and support regional multimedia artists and professionals through the Media Arts Project. Once the MAP established independent funding I stepped down as Executive Director and joined the board of directors.

In August 2004, I began a four year journey as a manager for cutting-edge artists. I worked at Music + Art Management, alongside music industry veteran Steve Cohen, managing an array of intelligent and multidisciplinary musicians and performing artists including DJ Spooky, Haale, D-Fuse, King Britt, Vijay Iyer and Carl Hancock Rux.

In July 2008, with support from Steve and my new business partner Billy Roberts, I started my own cultural events programming and production company, Better Ventures. Better Ventures produced and presented a blacklight dance performance called Chorus of Dreams, which premiered at the Burning Man Festival in Nevada. The artistic collaborators have gone on to perform at the Democratic National Convention and the TED Conference. Better Ventures continues to book and promote live music and performance art events in Asheville.

In February 2009, I joined Music Allies here in Asheville to help spearhead the launch of Creative Allies, a new social network that brings bands and fans together around user generated art. I also worked with the marketing side of the company as a project manager, salesperson and strategic consultant for an array of independent labels and festivals ranging from Justin Timberlake's Tennman Records to Outside Lands Festival. Creative Allies is now live and I am responsible for an array of duties from user acquisition to investor relations to partnership and sponsorship sales development.
